A new campaign is paused. It won’t call a single person until you turn it on. This is a feature, not a limitation. It means you can build everything, look it over, and test it, all with zero risk of a surprise call going out. When you’re ready, you flip one switch to go live. But flip it on purpose, after a quick check.

The pre-flight checklist

Before you go live, make sure the basics are in place. The system checks most of these for you and won’t let a campaign go live if something’s missing.
1

There's someone to call

Your entry tag is set, so people can actually join the list. An outbound campaign needs at least one entry tag. See Who gets called.
2

There's a number to call from

A caller ID is attached. See The phone number.
3

The extras your type needs

A booking agent needs a calendar connected. A scheduled dialer needs its calling rhythm set. The system tells you if one is missing.
4

Your hours are sane

Your calling window and timezone rule are set the way you want. See When and how often.

Test before you trust

Don’t let the first real call be the first call you’ve ever heard. Fire a test call to yourself first. Listen to it like a customer would:
  • Does the opening line sound like a person?
  • Does the agent handle a “no” gracefully?
  • Does it hit the goal without being pushy?
  • Does the right follow-up happen after you hang up?
Fix what sounds off, then test again. A few minutes here saves a lot of awkward calls later.

Flip it on

Once it checks out, switch the campaign live. Now, when someone gets your entry tag and it’s inside your calling hours, the agent starts dialing.
Going live isn’t one-way. You can pause a campaign any time, make changes, and turn it back on. Start small, watch the first real calls, and scale up once you’re happy.

Keep an eye on it

After you go live, watch the early calls. Read a few call summaries, check the outcomes, and see whether the right follow-up fired. The first day of real calls teaches you more than any amount of setup. Adjust, and let it run.
